Lovely Dresdens

A little while ago I saw on the Bunny Hill blog about her Scrappy Plate Club. I've always wanted to make some Dresden plates...I even had the Dresden plate tool I needed. So I thought that maybe now was the time to finally jump right in. I decided to make my quilt smaller, so I got out two charm packs and started cutting and this is what I ended up with. OK...I admit that this isn't all that lovely yet, and it really doesn't look much like a Dresden plate either. But the fabric is Lovely by Sandy Gervais for Moda and this (and five more like it) will become Dresden plates eventually. I can't wait to start sewing these together! :0)

I love the fabrics that you are working with! I have the ruler too, but that's as far as I have gotten! Too many projects and not nearly enough time!

Hi Terry--
I also have joined in the scrappy plate--and stitched one together with a template I had on hand--it came out 23" across--one big plate!!!
so I got the right ruler today and now will be busy frogging!!!
love your colors--can't wait to see some of the blocks done up--
Have fun--
Hugs, Di

Very nice, like you fabric choice. I'm going to do the Dresden Plate also. I hadn't thought about using charm packs, good idea. I got in too late to do the little houses.
