More wildlife
Emily and I went out to see the butterflies this afternoon, and we saw one that was new to us. After watching it for a while, we looked it up in our butterfly book and it's a Giant Swallowtail. We'd never seen one of these in our yard before. Let me just say I took about 30 pictures to get these two good ones, because this guy never sat still, not even for a few seconds. His wings never stopped moving. He sure was pretty! :0)
And as I came back around the corner to come back onto the deck, I saw a butterfly at the hummingbird feeder. And to my surprise, there was also a hummingbird eating there! The hummingbird is on the right.
Then I was in the right place at the right time and got this picture. It's the best hummingbird picture I've ever gotten! :0)

Great photos! I don't know about you there, but we have had more hummingbirds than ever this year! I'm really going to miss them when they head south!
You must get a lot of butterflies, I hardly see them...it is beautiful!
What a beautiful butterfly and how neat the butterfly shared the hummingbird feeder .
What a great day for photos! This is sooo neat to see, Terry.
Great pictures! Thanks so much for sharing.
Swallowtails are really striking. Lovely to get the hummingbird and butterfly feeding at the same time
Wow Terry I think that's the best picture of a humming bird I have ever seen! Well done. x
Terry you are so lucky to have such wonder butterflies ours here in the UK are quite small & have really suffered this year due to the wet summer.
PS. love all your wonderful quilts
Hugs Pam
You have so many treasures in your garden.
Butterflies are getting scares here, because people have less and less plants in their garden. That way they don't have to tend their garden.
Have a lovely Sunday.
Oh,what a lovely pic with the butterfly bush and the butterfly. Waiting for butterflies to come on mine :-)
Beautiful pictures. I have never had a butterfly at my feeder. It is great when you can get the picture of what you actually see. They move pretty fast. Good job.
Great pictures of the butterflies and hummingbirds. Such fun to see new species in our yards.
If you plant it they will come. Some plants the butterflies and hummers just can not resist. I get such pleasure from having these visitors in my yard. It is the simple things in life that give us such pleasure isn't it?
Happy sewing
What a stunning butterfly - don't think I've ever seen one outside a butterfly sanctuary! And the pic of the hummingbird is great!
