Kitty on Quilts Needle Keep

A while back, I saw a sweet little needle keep on Kathy Schmitz's blog. She had the kit for sale in her Etsy shop (you can find the kit HERE) and I just couldn't resist it. Tonight I finally got it put together. It's so cute and I love the fabric bit on the front. And I learned something new tonight...I learned how to finger crochet! I'd never even heard of it but it's so easy! I had to finger crochet the tie that goes around the button, and now that I know how it's done, I'm sure I'll be doing more of it. You can go HERE to see a video of it.

I also got six more blocks for my Wonky Log Cabin quilt done today. I only have 11 more to go! :0)

I've never heard it called finger crocheting but that certainly makes sense. I use it to make loops for tops that have one button on the back; sort of like what you did here but shaped like a loop. The needle keep is cute.

That is so cute!!! We used to finger crochet as children all the time. I still do it for loops for buttons, etc.

Cute needle keep------I have never heard of finger crochet. I taught my granddaughter to finger knit, I'll check out the video, maybe it is the same thing. Your keep would make a nice gift, everyone has needles even if they don't quilt.

Love the needle keep. I do remember way back something about finger crochet. But I crochet the reg. way so I do not need to do it that way. Great getting more blocks done too.

Love your little needle keep! So cute. I used to teach small children how to finger crochet (knit) when they were too young to use needles or a hook. We called it finger knitting and usually only made a long chain, but it was a great way to get the little ones involved too.
