In October of 2011, I made a Lil Twister table topper from a Fresh Flowers charm pack. The bits left over from cutting the twisters have sat around for over a year. Until today. Today I made them into this little mug rug. It's only 6-1/2 inches by 9 inches, but it's so cute! This will be living by my computer once Christmas is over. :0)

Raw edge applique
I wanted to add some leaves to a project I had already finished, so I put on my free motion quilting foot and got started. I don't do a lot of free motion but it worked fine for the veins on the leaves. Then I had to do around the edges of the leaves and that went OK, but obviously I need more practice. I'm still happy with how these came out.

Sneak peek
I've been busy sewing, but I can't show you what because it's a Christmas present. I can show you the back though...not very exciting but it's the best I can do at the moment. You'll have to stop back the end of December to see the front! ;0)
And I want to apologize to some of my blog friends who have left comments on my blog in the past. I went into my spam folder the other day and found over a dozen comments from the last several months. And since they were in the spam folder, I didn't get the chance to reply to them. So if you've left a comment and I've not responded, it's not because I'm ignoring you! I guess I'll have to remember to check that folder a little more often! LOL

Ready for Christmas
Emily and I got the Christmas tree put up on Sunday. Yesterday we finished our Christmas shopping. And my cards are ready to be mailed. Now I can sit back and enjoy December without rushing around to get things done! Well, except for the one Christmas gift I still need to make. I hope to get started on that today!
And this is one of my favorite ornaments...it's a button wreath I made a while back.
I have a bunch of these stars on my tree. My mom made them several years ago.

More star ornies
As you can see, I've made more of the star ornaments. These really are so much fun. I hope to include these with some Christmas gifts, and I'd like to keep a few for my tree too. I'm not sure if I have enough yet or if I'll still need to make a few more, but I'm off to a good start! :0)

Three finishes
Here are the three little blue and orange quilts I made, all finished. I still have a few scraps to use up but they'll have to wait for another time. I think the top one would make a nice baby quilt, if I could stand to part with it! Now I just need to figure out where to display these.

PIF from Oddbjørg
This is the second time I signed up for a PIF with Oddbjørg, and this gift was just as wonderful as the first one. This table topper is just beautiful! Our school color is purple so we're very fond of that color. I think this is going to look just fabulous on my kitchen table. Thank you so much Oddbjørg :0)
And now it's time for me to post my PIF. If you'd like to receive a handmade gift from me, and are willing to pass on a handmade gift to three other people, just leave a comment on this post. You have a year to make your gifts. and you must have an active blog to participate.

Christmas Stars
The other day I saw a link to some really cute and simple star ornaments, and I decided to give them a try. They really are quick to make and they use up fabric scraps, which is always a good thing. I've made four so far, but I hope to make more tomorrow. You can find the directions for them HERE.

The last one...for now
Here's the last blue and orange quilt...for now. I still have some 2-1/2 inch squares to use up, but that will have to wait. Right now I have to get back to working on Christmas gifts. Hopefully I can get these three little quilts finished off soon, but it's good to have the tops done at least! :0)

The Secret Keeper
I've read every book written by Kate Morton. They've all been amazing, full of twists and turns right up to the very end. This one was no exception, and I think it's my favorite of hers by far.

Two down...one to go
I started with the scraps left over from the last little quilt top I did, and this is what I ended up with. Now I'm going to cut up what's left of these fat quarters into charm squares and make one more quilt with them. I'm excited to have some new little quilts to brighten up the house, and I'm equally excited to have this stack of fabrics out of my sewing corner! :0)

Something bright on a cloudy day
I have lots of things I should be working on...Christmas presents to make and projects to finish. So what did I do today? I started something new! LOL I know...we've all been there, done that. I just wanted to work on something different today, so I chose a project that's been sitting around for at least a year, probably longer. Some time ago I bought three cute little frog and turtle panels and then started collecting fabrics to go with them. Today I started cutting and sewing and here's the first top. I have quite a bit of the blue, orange and green prints left, so I may just start another top with the same fabrics while I have them on the sewing table. This project reminded me why I should never buy panels though, no matter how cute they are. They never seem to be printed straight.
And for all you lovely ladies making the scrappy star blocks, it's November first so it's time to make another block or two...or three. It doesn't matter how many you make. Just have fun! :0)
