Quilts made of wood

I just found out about this amazing artist. His name is Fraser Smith and you really must go to his Facebook page and website to look at all his wonderful wood carvings. The quilts are unbelievable!! The quilts are carved out of wood! Really! You can see the wood he starts with and see pictures of the whole process. it's just so cool! :0)

I saw a display of his work at Paducah one year and at first I didn't realize the were wood. I thought I was looking at fabric. His work is phenomenal.

I found out about him on a quilt video. Then I looked for him online and wrote to him to ask permission to post photos of his work on my blog and he wrote back to me. I also followed him on Facebook while I was on there (I'm inactive at this time). His work is fabulous.

Isn't he amazing. They had one of his wood quilts on display (the first one, blue and white) at Art Prize here in Grand Rapids last September. It was awesome.
