Sarah's Pincushion #2

This is the second pincushion I've made from the pattern Sarah's Pincushions from Leanne Beasley. It's been fun stitching on the colored fabric, as I most often stitch on plain unbleached muslin. I have one more of these to embroider, and then there's still fabric in the kit for an applique one and a flowered one. I also took the leftover embroidery floss and wound it on some old metal bobbins I had. These don't fit my machine and I hated to get rid of them. Now I can sit them on the shelf and enjoy the pretty colors!

I've also started cutting my scrap batting into squares for my rag quilt. So far I have 47 squares cut. That's all the bits of batting I have right now. Hopefully this afternoon I can get started on cutting the flannel into squares. I'm really excited to finally have a project for this stack of flannels. They've been sitting in my sewing corner way too long.

Terry, it's one of the most adorable pin cushions I've ever seen! Well done. And what a clever idea to display it with the leftover floss and old bobbins. Have fun working on your flannels. I've made a few rag quilts in the past and really enjoyed the process!! The smaller my batting scraps got, the smaller the quilt pieces! Finally, I ran out!

Such a yummy pin cushion! The colors remind me of a sweet confection from the candy store.
