Charming Stars Sew-Along

Many of you have asked about a new sew-along since Irene is finished. I'm happy to tell you I've decided to do another one and I've decided on a pattern. We'll be making a Charming Stars quilt...you can find the tutorial at the Moda Bake Shop here

I made two table runners using this pattern a long time ago, and gave them both away as gifts. Ever since then I've wanted to make a quilt for myself using this pattern, and I think now is as good a time as any. This is a nice lap size...the pattern makes it 68-inches square. As with all of my sew-alongs, feel free to make it any size you want. I think we'll aim for two blocks a month, but if you choose to do more than that, that's fine too. I hope to get to the fabric store soon to get some background fabric to go with the charm squares I plan to use, so once I do that I'll announce when this will start...maybe September 1 but that's not far off! LOL

If you're interested in joining in, leave me a comment and let me know. I'll add a button to my sidebar that you can grab for you blog too if you'd like to. And by all means, do an online search for charming star quilts if you need a little inspiration...there are lots of beautiful versions out there! :0)

  1. Love that pattern! I'll be using fabrics from my stash. Two weeks should be enough to get me to finish my projects before 9-1-14. Something to look forward to. Thanks.

  29. Just saw Sharons block. Motivation to play. I'm thinking my stash of Christmas fabrics will work nicely. At 3 blocks a month instead of 2, I'll get it done in time for a Christmas present.
