Still missing

Well, here it is the first week of August and there's still no sign of my sewing mojo. I went to Amish country the other day, and had no desire at all to go into a quilt shop. I got my copy of Keepsake Quilting in the mail today, and there wasn't a single thing in it that caught my eye. Maybe Emily was right, and my sewing and quilting was just a phase and now it's time to move on to other things. I can't imagine that to be true, but who knows?

This is one of my favorite times of the year in the garden. Once the butterfly bushes bloom, we have lots of butterflies to watch. And of course the hummingbirds love them too.

  1. I wish I got as many butterflies on my butterfly bush as you do!!! However, the hummers do like them.

I think your mojo will eventually return. It HAS to!!!

  2. My mojo is coming backing slowly, hope it stays for a while........we are having some awesome weather here so I will probably be outside some in the next few days before the nasty hot, humid stuff returns. Something will catch your eye and you will sew again!

  3. I am in the same boat as you, just doing small things and never finishing much. I have other things I want to do too and I have learned, do what inspires you at the moment and the rest will come back eventually, sometimes we just need a break or something that inspires us.

  4. Just enjoy summer and being out of doors. Don't try to force the sewing if you're not ready. One day you'll wake up and won't be able to get to the sewing machine quick enough. In the meantime, don't stop blogging and posting your pretty pictures!!

  5. Summer is a time to enjoy other things - gardens and flowers, little trips, family. I have gotten CT, Paducah, Keepsake, Nancy Notions, and a few other catalogs and did not pick out a thing from them. Think it is because I have so much on the shelves I don't need more.

  7. Your MoJo will come back. You have had a lot going on and it has been hard for you to find any time for sewing. Love the butterflies and the beautiful butterfly bush.

  8. Love your butterflies! The summer is a time for other things besides sewing. Enjoy it while you can. That sewing machine will be there when it is too cold to go out and enjoy the garden. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

  10. Love your butterflies. I'm growing milkweed for them. Let me know how you get your mojo back. I can't seem to find mine. Maybe it's just the month of August and when fall comes we'll do better.

  11. Wait for the snow to fly and the days to be short...you will feel the excitement again!

  12. I can't imagine that you will not quilt or sew again I agree that summer is a time that I sew very little also. When the days are shorter and it's dark early, yuck, you might feel differently. Love your butterfly bush and butterflies! Unfortunately the little shoots you gave me did not make it this summer. :(

  13. I am sure your mojo will return , it is likely the summer weather that has lessened your desire , we all go through this at one time or another . Your flowers and butterflies are sure pretty .

  14. Let's hope your lack of sewing mojo is the phase...and I hope it passes quickly. In the meantime, I love your garden photos.

  16. I think I will have to get a butterfly bush, so beautiful. And don't worry lots of us loose out sewing mojo for awhile...the garden often calls me away from quilting

  17. Swallowtail butterflies are one of my favorites as they are maybe the most impressive looking butterflies overhere. We call then 'ritariperhonen', knight butterflies. :D

I hope you'll get your sewing mojo back... or maybe Emily is right? :( I never could have imagined not pixeling anymore, but then I just felt "pixeled out". I'm glad that I found photography, though. I do need a way to express my creativity and photography serves that purpous perfectly. :)
