Baby stuff

Once the t-shirt quilt was done, it was time to move on to baby things. First was the minky blanket. I just folded the fabric in half right sides together, and sewed all around, leaving a small opening to turn the blanket right side out. Once that was done I pinned it all the way around to keep it straight, and did a top stitch close to the edge. It's all finished now and is wrapped up for the baby shower in July. Aren't those hippos so cute?

Next was a little wall hanging. My grandmother had made this cross stitch piece for me many years ago. I took it out of the frame, and made a little wall quilt out of it using the same fabric to border it that I'm going to be using in the baby quilt. I though it was kind of cool that my grandmother made this for me, and now I've made it into a keepsake for my granddaughter to be. I didn't show this to Emily so it will be a surprise for her when she opens it at her baby shower. Next on the list is to start cutting blocks for the baby quilt.

I'm on a roll

I got the t-shirt quilt back from Joanne the other day, and yesterday I got the binding made and attached to the quilt. It's been washed and dried and is now ready to go to its new home. I'm so pleased with how this one came out. :0)

No sewing for me but...

I did do some sewing for a friend of a friend. A while back I was given an older quilt top that needed to be made into a quilt. Well, the gentleman I did it for was so pleased, he sent me three more tops to be finished off. I got these back from Joanne a couple of weeks ago and finally got the binding on. Now the friend of a friend has finished quilts made from tops his great aunt made, and everybody's happy! :0)
