Playing with my batiks

Quite some time ago I decided to start cutting up all the batiks I'd been saving for years. I cut most of what I had into charm squares and 2-1/2 inch squares. The other day I finally settled on a layout for the quilt top I want to make with them. I actually have cut some of the 2-1/2 inch squares into quarters for the little pieces you see here. The bigger pieces are the charm squares. Those little ones will finish at only 3/4 of an inch. Not sure if I'll like them being that small or not, but I'll find out if I ever get around to sewing them together. At least it's a start, which is better than I've done for a long time with my sewing.

I've been having Ava visit a couple of days a week, to help out with taking care of her when Emily is working. She loves to play in the waterfall outside, but it's no longer simply a matter of enjoying the water. First she was blowing her bubbles into it, which of course led to...

...lots of bubbles in it every time we turn it one! And as if that wasn't enough fun, now she even...

...has to wash her hands and feet in the bubbles! At least she's having a good time! lol
